Ok so you have heard of Country Heat but you are either skeptical about whether this country line dancing thing actually works or you are just curious if anyone has every done it. Well I am here to tell you #1 its the real deal #2 it works! How do I know this before the program has even launched (set to launch August of 2016)? I was chosen to be in the Beachbody coach test group for this program which I found very ironic. See, I love to lift weights and I hate CARDIO and hate to DANCE. So, why would I agree to do this? One reason —– WHO passes up an opportunity to be one of 50 coaches in a network of nearly 400.000 coaches. That’s why.
So, when chosen I decided to make the best of this opportunity and just KILL IT! That is exactly what I did and I am going to share my experience as best I can with it below so that you can make an educated decision on whether or not to commit to this program.
Some details about the program itself:
It is a 30 day program that runs 6 days a week with 1 rest day
Meal Plan comes with how many containers you are allowed as well as what foods are allowed
Workouts are 30 minutes long and follow a specific schedule
Each workout comes with a “watch this first” DVD so that you can break down the dance moves easily before doing the actual workout.
Workouts do have a modifier you can follow however there is very little modification needed.
Music is fun and upbeat, I have a hard time calling it country (I don’t really know country but this music was fun and upbeat)

Tips on how I followed this program:
I HIGHLY recommend you watching the “watch this first” videos before each workout for the first week and a half. You will not be stepping on your toes or over yourself if you don’t — FAIR WARNING.
I drank Vegan Shakeology with water and ice every single day of the program (I have been drinking it religiously now for over 6 years)
I did my workouts in my socks or barefoot on carpet as my feet kept getting caught on the carpet using shoes.
I did not miss one workout but on occasion moved my rest day during the week to meet prior engagements.
I never dreaded one workout
I worked out after an 8 hour shift in the Operating Room everyday
I grew out of my self-conscious dance shell.

First I am coming to you from a Non-Cardio lover standpoint so if you love cardio you may take my review to the next level. I have never loved cardio in the form of “working out” but I love cardio in the form of playing Hockey or Soccer. Probably because it is a distraction and I don’t have time to think that is what I am doing. So you can imagine how worried I was to even push play on this DVD. But since I am an Elite Coach and was given a Sneak Peek workout before any other coach I figured I just had to put my big girl pants on and make it happen, fingers crossed I would survive.
I will start out by saying I did do a Shaun T Insanity Max 30 workout LIVE in Scottsdale Arizona in September as part of our Beachbody Coach Leadership retreat. That workout was unreal, small and intimate and yes I did survive.
As someone that has done Beachbody’s Les Mills Pump for two rounds I feel like it is time to share some tips that I find very valuable for those that are just starting, those that have been doing the program and those that are looking to see whether this program is for them.
1. The program starts off slow but stick with it— When you follow the program, the schedule has you doing a DVD called Pump Challenge. For those that have never worked out with weights this is right up your alley. For those that have worked out with weights, especially those of you who have already completed programs like P90x you may find this workout boring. Here is my tip for both of you. Beginners: focus on the form, do it with the bar only. Novice: do this disc and really focus on the form, do the DVD with light weights but try and have a mirror in the room so that you can see if you are using the correct form. It would be a shame if you got far into the program and injured yourself due to rushing through the beginning. I HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN, DON’T LET IT BE YOU. Advanced: Do the DVD’s but add more weight. You are just starting a new program that will take you into 90 days of workout (3 months). Remember Rome was not built in a day. You need to ramp up for this program so the beginning is just as important as the end when your workouts are longer and you are possibly lifting heavier weights.
2. Do not go up in weight just because you feel like you should–If you feel you are not improving as the days go on only because you havent changed your weights but you are still walking away with muscles shaking. Don’t up your weights. Make sure you re-focus on your form, if you are able to squat all the way or lunge the proper way and you are feeling fatigue, then you should keep your weights the same. If you feel like you are not getting the burn like you were before, that is a sign you should go up in your weight. I am still lifting on some tracks the same weights as I was lifting in round 1. Les Mills Pump is a different breed than traditional reps and sets. If you go up in weight before you are ready you are risking your health and you may very well experience a major injury. Again I have seen it happen before.
3. When doing the back track or any squats with a weak core—widen your stance, this will allow your hips to stay under your shoulders better and take the stress off your back and also make sure you are sitting in your heels. Feel the pressure of your heels pushing into the ground. These are just 2 tips you can use in correcting your form so that you can push yourself further without injuring your back.
4. Straight from the Les Mills Pumps Trainers–How much weight should I be lifting? –The last 8 reps should be challenging and after you are done with the track, you should only be able to do 1-2 more reps.
I have loved all the workouts I have done but not all have captured my attention for the ENTIRE program. My last attempt to finish a program was a failure due to EXC– USE ALERT: Women’s National Hockey Tournament and lots of hockey. I finished 6 weeks of P90x 2 and what I did love about it was all the BASE and CORE work which helped with prepping for the National Tournament. But I was ready for MORE results. I wanted to see those ABS and really see my AB FAT disappear.
I started seeing my friends with major results going through their 90 days of Les Mills. People that I thought didnt need the improvements. OH MY they Looked Amazing!!
What originally deterred me was the cost. Even with a 25% COACH Discount (if you want more information on that its here). For the Basic Set Retail it is $ $165.85 and the Deluxe set is $305.85.. Then I thought about it, well, this comes with equipment that I don’t have and I will end up ALWAYS having unlike a Gym Membership!
I had the pleasure of being invited to a private Facebook group that the participants were all doing Pump and they were all incorporating the Bonus Cardio DVDs with the STEP and the extra weights, instead of the suggested Walking or Hiking.
Since I am tied to working out at home, being a busy working mom I decided I NEEDED those Cardio DVDs. So, I made the investment and ordered the Deluxe Set (Picture)
When the Package arrived it was like Christmas for me, so many boxes to open. I felt like a KID!
I set my start date for after my Beachbody Reward TRIP and my trip to Nationals in Boston. This gave me time to review the nutrition guide, because I know how important it is to follow and achieve results for the last 3 years. I have eaten clean and worked out but havent followed a nutrition guide since my first round of P90x. So this was the time for me to JUST DO IT!
I plugged the schedule in starting on a MONDAY but making sure my REST days fell on Tuesday night when I could spend quality time with my Husband. I also substituted one day weekly for my weekly hockey game for CARDIO.
This program has been in the last 30 days the 1st workout since my 1st round of P90x that I am EXCITED to do my next workout, like excited Beyond Belief!!
I love the International Accents, the motivation of the Trainers, and the Music Choices. Best of all: THE WORKOUTS go by so incredibly fast because of the blocks or tracks they are broken up into. They are very easy to follow and most importantly easy to MODIFY!
This program is for Beginners, Intermediates and Advanced Exercisers and is definitely for Men and Women alike.
My 30 day results so far are that I am down 8 lbs and inches are gone off my thighs and hips and even MY WAIST. The Belly Fat is finally disappearing. My arms are showing way more definition and are thinning out which make them fun to look at when you are driving, HEE HEE.
